It’s important to remember that there is no one correct diet. There are many diets that work for many people. You need to look at the nutrients you are putting in your body rather than sticking to one doctrine. For awhile now I’ve been studying Weston A Price and his research and I will be posting some new additions to my diet to see if it helps me and how I feel. I really enjoyed watching this video put together by Dr. Mercola about Weston A Price and the Pottenger Cats:
There is a lot of controversy over the Weston A Price Foundation amongst the vegan community because of their strong focus on animal products but it is still very interesting research. If you read it closely you will see that they talk about how to get the nutrients from the old farm ways. There’s nothing wrong with this. Great if you like fermented foods and liver. If you like veggies than read THE CHINA STUDY and see how to get your nutrients from veggies. Can’t we all just get along! We are all talking about the same thing, nutrients, vitamins, minerals and fats and there are thousands of cultures around the world that do it in all sorts of different ways. The idea that there is only one right answer is quite frankly absurd! So be a smart and savvy researcher. Here is T. Colin Campbell (THE CHINA STUDY) with what he has to say:
There are different diets that work for everyone all over the world. Be smart in your research, focus on the vitamins, minerals, and fats, that YOU and YOUR body need and pick the foods you like to get them in your body! It’s really that simple!
I love the book the Blue Zones by Dan Buettner as it explains how there are so many ways to be healthy all over the world:
So, I will keep you posted on what I take from all this and we’ll see where it takes me! I’m also reading a wonderful new book called THE JUNGLE DIET by Daphne Miller – Healthiest Diets from Around the World–Why They Work and How to Make Them Work for You
