When she said the number of people who died in '76 from the paralyzing syndrome was more than the number of people who died from the swine flu that year, I thought, what would the death toll from swine flu have been if NO one had gotten the vaccine? Maybe much more than the number of deaths from the syndrome? We can't know. I know they are predicting a lot of people will die from the flu this year. With two little children I've been thinking about this a lot. I think about it every time I take them to the park, the library, now that my oldest is back in school. Apparently there isn't thimerasol in the flu vaccines being made this year (not sure on that one, but hubby said he read that today) and that shows how concerned the gov. is about getting people to have the vaccine for regular and swine flu.

She said there were more deaths in '76 from the paralyzing syndrome than from the swine flu. But what would the death total have been if NO one had gotten the vaccine. Could it have been more than the deaths from the syndrome? We can't know. It's a sad thing, risking that side-effect to supposedly save more. With two young children I've been thinking about the flu a lot recently. Every time I take them to the park, the library, with my oldest back to school this week. Hubby said he read there will not be thimerasol in the flu vaccines this year. To me that shows how concerned disease control is with getting people to get vaccinated this year. The whole family had the flu in March 08 and we were saved by Tamiflu. I couldn't imagine not having Tamiflu that week. It could have been much, much worse. I wonder if there would be an antiviral medication for the swine flu.

There may not be thimersol in the swine flu vaccine but there is aluminum and squalene. Neither things you want injected into you.
