10520_286619290493_706680493_9176118_3384139_nI’m back. It has been awhile. I just have so much to share I don’t know where to start so I will just break everything up into a bunch of small posts. This one is about how I stay well while traveling. I just got back from traveling around Europe for a month. I went to Italy, London and Paris. I was worried about traveling as I wasn’t sure I would be able to get enough fresh food and particularly greens to stay alkaline. I ordered a gluten free meal on the plane which was pretty gross. I didn’t eat it. It was hard to choose betwen gluten free or vegan because the vegan meal could have gluten and the gluten meal could have dairy. I just brought almonds, larabars, granola  and fruit for the flight. I rarely eat on planes. I also bring green tea bags and lemon wedges so all I have to ask for is hot water. So this is what I brought with me – my natural arsenal of germ fighters and alkalizers – it was quite an undertaking to get it all organized:

packing

Now I had a couple of things I was dealing with that the average traveler wouldn’t have to deal with. Candida is a beast and I’m in the process of getting it out of my system so I had to bring Candex, Yeast Cleanse, and CadiGone with me.

I also brought the following:

Natural Calm (this was a life saver as it keeps you regular and helps you sleep at night. These little packets were great for traveling, also it’s incredibly alkalizing)

1000 MG tablets of Ester-C (crucial for maintaining immunity – I take 4 a day – and if you’re sick or feel like you are getting sick you can take 1 an hour until you feel better)

YES EFA’s (good omegas for supple skin and healthy membranes)

B12 “Shot” Capsules (good for boosting immunity and very necessary if you are vegan – which I can’t really say I am anymore)

Zinc 50mg (crucial for maintaining immunity)

Vitamin D3 – 2000IU (crucial for maintaining immunity)

Olive Leave (great for making sure you don’t pick up any pathogens and also kills candida)

Oregano Oil (great for making sure you don’t pick up any pathogens and also kills candida – also comes in little caplets)

MacroGreens (a wonderful tasting alkalizer that I drank up to 3 times a day – it’s very sweet)

ProGreens (a really amazing product and alkalizer, probiotic and all around health booster that I drank every morning when I woke – doesn’t taste as good as macro-greens but it really gave me lots of energy and kept me healthy)

Larabars – mint chocolate – only for emergencies

Zyrtec-D – for allergies

Mucinex – for the plane flight – I find it helps to thin mucous out on plane trips so everything stays fluid as I used to be prone to sinus infections and would get sick every time I flew.

Afrin Nose Spray – 12 hour – I SWEAR BY AFRIN, my doctor recommended this and I tell everyone I know, if you take a few sprays before a flight it keeps your airways open so germs don’t settle in there, I’ve never gotten sick from flying when I’ve used Afrin before a flight

Digestive Enzymes – I always have these with me

Greens Fiber Plus - these are great for keeping you regular while traveling and I’m really bummed that they have discontinued them. I will have to find something else. I LOVED THESE!!!! Don’t be fooled by this site. It says they have them but they don’t. :-(   If anyone else has a fiber product they love I’d welcome any recommendations.

Activated Charcoal – this is great in case you get food poisoning or an upset tummy. I knew I would be in Europe and may be eating gluten or things I don’t normally eat so this was crucial.

img_3313Italy was very easy. The small town I was in called Manarola had the most amazing fresh fish it was really unbelievable. They had the most wonderful fresh sardines, octopus, prawns, etc. It was unbelievable. The fisherman would go out each morning and bring back their catch. It was amazing!

Manarola also had a wonderful smoothie place that made Almond Milk smoothies. It was like a dream come true. This town may have been just one street long but it had everything I needed!!

Breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, tea, fresh crusty bread, unpasteurized cheese, tomatoes and fresh basil:

I hadn’t been eating bread or dairy up until this trip but I thought I’d try it. Their breads don’t have yeast and the cheese is made fresh every morning from unpasteurized milk. I had no problems whatsoever. It was really amazing. The gelato in the small towns too is made from unpasteurized milk. It was so much fun! For more about the difference btwn. unpasteurized milk and regular milk read here: Real Milk – it’s fascinating!

My friend got married right in the harbor and it was just gorgeous!

I recently found your blog and love it! This post is so helpful – thank you for sharing your tips & tricks. I followed a very strict eating regimen for a year and loved the way I felt while on it, but I've been off of it for 1 year and I'm gearing up to give it another go. Your blog is truly inspiring and encouraging!

Since you asked, I have to share my absolute favorite fiber product that I don't leave home without (when I'm traveling). Its Dr. Schulze's Intestinal Formula #1 (http://www.herbdoc.com) and it absolutely keeps me regular when traveling tries to sabotage it. I also take it whenever I need to get things moving or after a large and/or heavy meal so 'things' don't get stalled and/or backed up :-) I've tried many fiber products and this one is BY FAR my favorite. I even got my 85 year old grandmother to start taking it because she hasn't been able to eliminate without an enema for the past 20 years. Needless to say, her muscles didn't even know how to work after that long of inactivity so it took quite a few pills to see any progress for her BUT it was the only product that ACTUALLY worked (she had tried many). She's thrilled with it :) I have many other family members who have their own success stories with it – but I'll spare you the details ;)

I love and use many of his other products too – but this is one I absolutely can't live without!

Hope it helps and keep up the good work!
